Hey Good Lookin' Whatcha got Cookin'

Ryan and I have a monthly budget for groceries... and since food adds up pretty quickly I have looked for recipes that I can make instead of buying! Here are our two new homemade meals:

Ryan was pretty impressed with our perfect his sloppy joe turned out

Biscuits and Gravy

On Sunday I made orange chicken, and it was disgusting! Ryan made us peanut butter sandwiches instead :)

Quick Update

After being home for a week and a half, I can now say I am back in Kirksville. It took me a while to adjust back to Missouri life with the cold, and the fog, and the ice. I miss going out to eat and ordering whatever I wanted and not thinking about our monthly budget. THANKS MOM AND DAD!! I miss all the junk food and soda pop that we ate over the holidays. You never realize the little things in life until you learn to live without them.

But I am back in Missouri and it is nice to be in the old routine again. Every day I watch Emi. She wakes up, we play, she eats, play some more, and then take a two hour nap!! It's great :) Ryan is studying hard. He now has a test every Monday and Friday until finals which are the middle of February. Luckily, I will be leaving for a little over a week when my sister has her baby and don't have to be here for that last minute stress phase. I will come back and it will almost be over. Perfect timing Christina!

Well thats our life!!! Studying and taking naps :)

New Releases

While we were in Boise we went to a couple of movies. I highly recommend Blind Side! It was a great sports movie with great family/christian values. Definitely worth watching again and adding it to our movie collection. We also saw Did you Hear about the Morgans? It was a cute chick flick that left you with a smile.

Sledding

In the fall my dad placed some straw bales to help form a sledding luge for when it snowed. IT WAS PERFECT!! It snowed and it formed a perfect hill for sledding. One night it snow about a foot and a half and Ryan spent all night going down it and making jumps. We had some family friends come over and go down the hill as well.

Family Fun

Ryan and I were counting the other day how many restaurants we ate at over the holiday break.... I think we got up to 23 different places!

I went go carting for the first time and got 2nd place. We also went bowling and played some volleyball at open gym (girls dominated the boys!)

My grandma always makes homemade caramels at Christmas time... she taught me how and I think I will carry on the tradition

Merry Christmas

I know I am a little late, but I just got home and now its time to start blogging it all! Christmas was great. We started at 7:30am and we finally finished opening presents a little after 9:30. YES 2 hours of opening PRESENTS!!!! The whole Coburn Family was home so with 14 people and 2 babies on the way it sounds a whole lot more reasonable.

Some of the things Ryan and I got: Wii Fit, Guitar Hero, jewelry, racquetball gear, scrap booking supplies, GPS, new cell phones, white fudge oreos, clothes and more.....

Idaho Falls

Since Ryan and I weren't able to go to Idaho Falls for thanksgiving, we went to Idaho Falls for a few days before Christmas. The trip was short but fun filled. The first night we were there we went to a ranch and they took us on a sleigh ride and fed us dinner and had a show to entertain us. Tuesday we went to a spa in Rexburg and had a girls day and had pedicures. I have had pedicures before, but never at a spa. I AM ADDICTED!! I have convinced my mom to go to a spa after Christmas :) They gave us warm lavender neck wraps and drinks in wine glass and treats. It was so relaxing!

We also went to Ja
ckson, WY to the elk refuge. We went on a sleigh ride to a huge field filled with elk. We also saw some coyotes and some trump swans.

We were also able to go to the traditional Christmas Eve breakfast at Bubba's.
