Pet Friendly

The other day when the person I babysit for came to pick up Emi, I opened the door and a stray cat ran into our house. At first it hid in the office and then Ryan tried getting it to run back down stairs and instead it ran into the bedroom. Ryan couldn't get it to head to the door so he opened the sliding door that goes to the balcony. Well he opened the door and didn't realize the screen door was closed.... The cat climbed up the the screen door. Ryan had to go to a meeting, so I told him to close the door and let the cat finally climb down and hop into the tree. The cat wouldn't move except climb higher and higher.

Well Ryan was finally able to get the cat down and we took it out side.

No cats were harmed in making this bog post!

Day at the Park

Like I said, the weather has been really nice. Ryan and I have been walking to the park across the street from our house and letting Emi play on the swings.

SHE LOVES TO SWING!! She will sit in the swing and laugh and kick and enjoy going back and forth!!

Oh and she LOVES Ryan!!

Crazy for Cookies

Decided to make cookies today (really just wanted cookie dough!) and had Emi help me. She loved watching the mixer go round and round....

Oh and the cookies tasted really good!

First Day of Spring

Today is officially the first day of spring.... Hope yours is looking better than ours!!

Hello Mr. Sunshine

This week has been spring break for Ryan and it sure has felt like it!! The weather has been so nice and sunny that we couldn't help ourselves and spent time outside.

We went on a walk around our neighborhood and discovered a walking trail that goes by the river (ok really the size of a creek) and on Thursday we went to 1000 Hills Park and walked by the lake.

Oh it was so nice. Ryan has even been wearing shorts :) I can't wait for it to continue to warm up more and more!!

Ryan Applonie

Ryan is such a great sport... When I first met him, I never saw him interact with kids very much, but now he is always playing and keeping up with our nephews and nieces. Andrew and Brendan would say "Ryan Applonie play blocks with us... Ryan Applonie play the wii with us..." (my brother's name is Ryan so he is Uncle Ryan and Ryan is either called Ryan2 or Ryan Applonie... yeah gets confusing!!) and Ryan was jump right in and keep them entertained.

He even played princesses with Hallie!! He helped her get in her dress and even wore the shoes that she put on him!! Lets just say I have seen a real change in him and am excited for him to play with his own kids some day...

Road Trip

On Friday, Ryan and I packed up our car for a quick trip to Michigan for my nieces baby blessing. My parents and sister came into town and my brother that lives in New Jersey also flew in and surprised a few! We drove the 10 hours on Friday, hung out and shopped on Saturday, and drove 10 hours back to Missouri on Sunday... YES it was a quick and long trip at the same time but we would totally do it again....

Spring is in the Air

Oh I love spring time!! Yesterday I was lying on my bed, rocking Emi to sleep, and you could hear all the birds chirping and flying around in the tree outside our room. The weather is finally starting to get warm and the snow is almost gone!! You walk outside and it smells so clean and fresh. Oh I love love love spring!!

Since it is finals and Ryan has been home studying ALL DAY and working really hard, I decided to do a little work myself... I turned the tv off and started my spring cleaning. AND IT IS DONE!! ok ok it is almost done, all I have to do is the fridge and the stove! But I feel so accomplished... Every surface of my house has been wiped down with pinesol, pledge or windex. Every base board and window sill cleaned!

I am so glad that winter is over and we don't have to turn on the heater any more. I felt like all I did was dust! The winter blues are over and it is officially spring time!!

Hope all of you endured the long winter!! Now go outside and enjoy SPRING TIME :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRISTINA

Today is my sister's 28th birthday!! We love you and your growing family!! So here are some things that makes us love Christina more....She hated the color pink growing up, so I started loving it and now it is my favorite color!
She still blames us for her bike crash because we didn't tell her the brakes didn't work
And last, when she (well all the Coburn girls) gets mad, she starts deep cleaning and rearranging her room!!

WE LOVE YOU CHRISTINA!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Who ever said....

Who ever tells you that medical school is hard has never met Ryan... Today Ryan got another 100% on his anatomy test!!!! Each time he gets a 100% we get a special treat, we've had cake and cookies, this time I let Ryan pick out his favorite flavor of ice cream!! Of course it is chocolate, with a fudge swirl and chocolate pieces (RYAN LOVES CHOCOLATE!)
Congrats Ryan!! Good Luck on the rest of your finals!

Back at Home

Just wanted everyone to know that I made it back to Kirksville (sadly)! Michigan was great! I don't think I am ready to be a mother of three yet, but it was fun playing the part for a few days. My new adorable niece Kyla is absolutely perfect, and my other niece and nephews are just as energetic as ever! Thanks Christina for letting me come up and share some of those precious moments with your family, can't wait to see you again next week!

Ok... now a few things you missed out on while I was gone. Ryan participated in a Emergency Wilderness Challenge and WON!! yes he slept in a tent in a field by the campus and competed in several different challenges using basic tools to help injured people in the wild. Congrats also to Ryans team members Joe and Jed!!

Olympics are over and now back to regular tv programming!!!

Team USA beat El Salvador in Soccer. Anyone that knows Ryan knows that he loves watching soccer... only 4 months til the world cup games.

Ryan's intramural team lost the semifinal game in over time. He did scored two goals during the game.

Last.... It is finals time. Next week Ryans will be finishing his second quarter of medical school. He is half way done with his first year! He has done very well (got a few 100%) and is very pleased with his grades.

Well there's our life so far. We are excited because the sun is shining and it is starting to get warm outside... YAY for Spring!!
