Good Morning!

Anyone that knows me, I AM NOT A MORNING PERSON!! That has been one of the biggest adjustments since Paige has come along. Every morning Paige wakes us between 7 and 8... I know what your thinking, that's not even early!

I wake up to Paige talking to herself in her crib. I get up, make her a bottle and walk in to find her like this....

And that smile makes it all worth it!

I can't believe how big she is getting. Today some one was surprised when I told them how old she is because she is so alert and busy checking everything out. Everyday she is getting bigger and bigger and doing something new!

Moms Day Off

So I learned a lesson yesterday... Moms don't get days off!! If I am sick, I still have to work :(

Yesterday I woke up and had a terrible stomach ache. So I didn't eat breakfast cause I thought that would make it worse. As the day went on I thought maybe I have a stomach ache cause I haven't eaten, so I ate a bowl of cereal... IT DIDN'T HELP!! IT MADE IT WORSE!! As I was taking care of Paige, meaning she was playing on the ground and I was curled up on the couch, I was counting down until Ryan was going to be home.

Luckily Ryan only had a half day and Paige, Ryan, and I laid down and took a 3 hour nap together. Thank goodness for husbands and block out blinds. It was great that I was able to take a nap and it helped a little. Ryan left for a couple of hours to help a family move and the chills hit me. My body became so achy and weak and I was freezing in almost 100 degree heat! As I was giving Paige her bath, I wanted so badly to jump in and have a bubble bath too. Once again I found myself counting down until Ryan came home so that I could hand Paige over and relax in the bath. Finally right before we went to bed, 12 hours since my bowl of cereal, I finally had an appetite and ate a piece of toast.

Lets just say I am thankful for such a sweet baby that will entertain herself and a husband that only had a half day of work!

Lesson learned :)

Bathing Beauty

It got really warm last week and Paige and I headed to the pool to cool off.

She didn't like the pool very much because it was pretty cool. I did take her to the hot tub and dipped her feet into it and she liked that.

Settled In

We have been settled in for a while and thought I would give a glimpse of our new place. I'll post Paige's nursery later when it's clean...

Our front room is an open concept layout. Its nice cause I can keep an eye on Paige while doing things in the kitchen :)

Stronger than Yesterday

Everyday something is changing with Paige. She is getting bigger and stronger everyday! I was cleaning and putting away her newborn outfits and started getting out her 3-6 month clothes because I know she'll need them before I know it :( I love that she is getting more interactive and social. She is constantly smiling and is starting to make more baby noises. She is still sleeping 10-11 hours at night and loves to cuddle.

Chapter 3

We are officially starting the 3rd year of medical school. Ryan started orientation and begins with family medicine on Thursday. It was weird to hear an alarm clock this morning.

2 Months

HAPPY 2 MONTHS TO MISS PAIGE!!


Paige we love you so much and are so glad that you are part of our family. You bring so much joy into our lives and melt our hearts with your smile!

You are the coolest 2 month old! Lets review the past 2 months:
--you have traveled through ten states (Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan)
--you love to stand up and bounce on our legs
--you hold your head up all the time
--you love to stare at us and follow us with your eyes
--you coo and laugh
--you are starting to get ticklish
--YOU ARE AWESOME!!

Family Camp Out

Last weekend we decided to go to western Michigan and camp near Lake Michigan. Lake Michigan is compared to the ocean around here and has some really nice beaches. It was Paige's first camp out and she loved it!!


The first night we were there, it rained and thundered all night and she slept through it and slept all night. It continued to rain the next morning, so we spent the morning hiking around and shopping at the mall.

It finally cleared up and we headed for the beach and it was BEAUTIFUL! It was nice to lay out and relax listening to the waves. Paige slept while we were at the beach and then decided to wake up to show off her new swimsuit :)


It was a great weekend with our awesome friends the Irvins that are rotating in Michigan near us. We're excited to go again next year and can't wait for more trips with the Irvins exploring Michigan :)
